Lauraine is a registered psychologist with over 20 years of experience helping teenagers, young adults, and adults cope with and heal from anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, low self-esteem and attention concerns. She also supports individuals in creating healthy relationships and communication with self and others as well as navigating major life transitions such as separation/divorce, loss of a loved one, or chronic illness.

    Lauraine has over 20 years of experience working with teenagers (aged 14-19 years) who need support in the educational environment, including academic programming, career exploration, test anxiety, peer conflict, bullying, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

    Becoming a young adult is a time when people start reflecting on their mental health and explore ways to cope with and heal from anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues. Lauraine uses various therapy approaches to help athletes increase focus, improve motivation, enhance performance, and increase confidence.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: Lauraine has complete David Burns’ courses on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) where she learned to help individuals recognize and challenge the unhealthy thoughts, feelings and beliefs that are causing feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger and stress.

  • FJ-TTT Techniques: She is an FJ-TTT (Finding Joy – Trauma Treatment Technique) Practitioner and Lead Trainer. The FJ-TTT technique is a tool that resolves suffering in a quick and easy way to enable the individual to experience healing, freedom and joy.

  • Mindfulness: Lauraine has also completed several courses on mindfulness, a technique designed to help an individual focus on the the moment instead of worrying about past or future concerns.

This treatment has been shown to resolve the residual feelings of trauma quickly and easily, while helping the individual gain a renewed sense of peace and calm.

Lauraine enjoys hiking, walking, cycling, cross country skiing, even the occasional game of tennis or round of golf.  She loves listening to live music, visiting the mountains and any activities on, in or near water.  She appreciates the simple pleasures; coffee on the deck, a blazing campfire, anything that involves fresh air and sunshine.  Lauraine is a single parent of three, now adult, children who are each pursuing their own unique interests and paths.
